On this episode I return to the endless topic of Killing the Timesheet. Recently I ran a webinar on Killing the Timesheet. During the leadup to the webinar and also during the webinar I had a couple of industry consultants and also professional service firms challenging me that you could have timesheet and at the same adopt value pricing. I absolutely disagree and in this podcast I discuss the importance of killing the timesheet.
I also move onto a couple of other key topics that come off this issue of the timesheet. One of these issues is to always remember that business is about relationships. We can not control people with things like timesheets and numbers. Whether it is with customers or with our team it is all about relationships.
The next issue I cover is that off measuring what matters. Numbers are important but often what is easy to measure like productivity in an accounting firm just does not matter. What we need to measure is what is success in the eyes of the customer.
